Chris is the principal and founder of Sentience Consulting and an experienced manager, EAP counsellor, and organisational consultant specialising in people management. While serving for more than 20 years as a manager, supervisor, and specialist in a number of high risk/high profile areas within the police force Chris developed a keen interest in people, how they work, and methods to help support them to bring out their best.
Chris has extensive experience in:
- supporting managers through workplace conflict situations;
- supporting employees to deal with a wide assortment of workplace problems;
- directly managing, coaching, and training of people;
- dealing with high risk, difficult, and challenging situations;
- working one-on-one with dysfunctional staff, groups and teams
- designing interventions for problematic workgroups ranging in size from 3 to 150 people
With formal qualifications in psychology, human resource management, organisation behaviour, and business, Chris is well qualified to combine the theoretical and the practical. Chris has training and experience as an:
- Organisational consultant;
- Employee Assistance counsellor;
- career counsellor;
- trainer/assessor;
- Results trained coach; and
- AIMA trained mediator.
A passion for people led Chris to formally explore how managers could more strategically and effectively interact with staff to better achieve organisation goals, leading to outstanding recognition for his research into 'management intervention'. Today, Chris employs the SMI framework to assist a range of clients to bring out their professional best, the best in their staff, and to more effectively achieve organisational goals.
Chris has balanced his focus on management by incorporating personal and professional counselling, including careers counselling and vocational preference assessment.
